Teresa Giudice, star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, is once again facing legal issues with the IRS. The reality TV star has been hit with a new $17,000 tax lien, adding to her long history of financial troubles.

According to records from the Morris County Clerk’s Office, the lien was filed in April 2023, covering taxes and penalties for the years 2020 and 2021, as reported by The US Sun. Although the lien was issued in April, Teresa was not officially notified until May 3.

In response, Teresa’s representative, James J. Leonard Jr., issued a statement, assuring that she is actively addressing her financial obligations. “Ms. Giudice has been aware of her tax obligations for years and makes significant monthly payments toward her outstanding tax liabilities and will continue until they are fully resolved,” Leonard said via Page Six.

This recent tax lien is just one of many financial hurdles Teresa has faced over the years. In April 2016, Teresa and her ex-husband, Joe Giudice, were hit with a lien for $243,425.50 for taxes owed in 2014. The following month, they were issued another lien for $219,804.38 for 2015.

Further back, the couple was slapped with a massive $551,563.30 tax lien in October 2015 for unpaid taxes dating back to the years 2000 through 2008 and 2013. According to The Sun, the Morris County Clerk’s Office has no record of these taxes being fully paid off, bringing the total amount Teresa allegedly owes to over $1 million.

Despite her ongoing financial struggles, Teresa has made some payments toward her tax debt. In May 2022, she paid off a lien of $363,120 for taxes owed for the years 2011 and 2012.

Teresa’s financial problems date back to her 2014 guilty plea on charges of bankruptcy fraud, conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, and failure to pay taxes. She and Joe were convicted of hiding assets from creditors and submitting false loan applications to secure over $5 million in loans. Teresa was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison, serving time before her release.

Despite these financial difficulties, Teresa and her new husband, Luis Ruelas, continue to live a luxurious lifestyle. The couple resides in a $3.3 million mansion in Montville, New Jersey, and they have recently taken extravagant vacations to destinations like Puerto Rico and St. Barts.

As Teresa continues to navigate her financial obligations, her situation serves as a reminder of the ongoing impact of past financial missteps and the importance of staying on top of tax responsibilities.
